Method of Therapy Print E-mail

How is therapy with extracorporeal shockwaves using the Swiss DolorClast® method conducted?

The physician examines the pain zone with a simple tactile diagnosis (ultrasound diagnosis for shoulder pain).

Then the treatment is applied with Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT). The physician slides the shockwave applicator over the pain zone.

The pain that occurs during treatment is used in the dialog with the patient to direct the shockwaves directly to the treatment region.

The success of treatment with extracorporeal shockwaves (ESWT) is indicated by quick reduction of pain. The therapy is generally extended over one to three sessions of about 10 minutes each. A significant, lasting reduction in pain can be observed in most patients as early as eight to ten days after the first treatment.
